Job Overview The Medication Care Manager provides high-quality care by administering medications and treatments safely, documenting accurately, and supporting Sunrise's mission to improve seniors' quality of life, in compliance with all laws and policies.
Responsibilities & Qualifications Essential Duties Administer medications and treatments safely and organized.
Document medication administration accurately in electronic health records.
Communicate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse about medication updates.
Follow the Six Rights of Medication Pass to ensure safety.
Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation for all resident information.
Restock and maintain medication carts and rooms.
Assess residents for 'as needed' medications and report accordingly.
Count narcotics with a colleague each shift and report discrepancies.
Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Resident Care Communications Report resident and family concerns to the RCD.
Participate in daily meetings and develop Individualized Service Plans.
Risk Management & Safety Ensure compliance with safety and occupational health regulations.
Practice safety procedures, including PPE and hazard reporting.
Handle hazardous materials and exposures properly.
Team Success & Training Work collaboratively with the team and participate in engagement programs.
Attend meetings and required training sessions.
Core Competencies Decision-making in residents' best interest.
Calmness in difficult situations.
Handling multiple priorities effectively.
Effective communication skills.
Good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
Experience & Qualifications High School diploma/GED; certifications as required by law.
CPR and First Aid certifications.
At least 18 years old.
Experience with seniors preferred.
Desire to serve and care for seniors.
