Overview Hecker Fink LLP is seeking a Supervisory Case Manager to lead the Firm’s case-management team. Reporting to the Firm’s Director of Case Management, this position is an exciting opportunity to take initiative and play an impactful role in continuing to build our team.
Hecker Fink LLP brings together a high-stakes, cutting-edge litigation practice serving clients across various practice areas, including commercial litigation, white-collar criminal defense and internal investigations, employment and discrimination, and complex regulatory and securities matters. The firm also supports a public interest practice focused on civil rights, equity, and related areas.
Responsibilities Assist with the management of the Firm’s expanding team of Case Managers and Senior Case Managers. Direct and supervise litigation-support work, staffing, and training to support case teams from investigation through trial and appeal.
Coordinate daily case management services by assigning matters, balancing workloads, ensuring coverage and workflow efficiency.
Work with the Director of Case Management to address personnel or performance issues among team members.
Participate in performance evaluations and help set expectations and goals for relevant case management staff.
Develop training materials and provide coaching and mentoring to assigned staff as needed.
Prepare for depositions, conferences, and hearings, including compiling documents, outlining witnesses, and managing logistical details.
Support trial preparation and execution by organizing exhibits, preparing documents, coordinating remote trial logistics, liaising with vendors, and communicating with courtroom personnel and participants.
Stay updated on trends in litigation support and eDiscovery; identify and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda and case-related materials as directed by supervising attorneys.
Participate in the recruitment process, including reviewing resumes and collaborating with the recruiting team to identify top talent aligned with organizational goals.
Handle other special projects and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and at least 7-8 years of litigation-support experience; at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a litigation-specific role at a law firm is preferred. Excellent writing, research, analytics, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge and Skills: Strong working knowledge of litigation case-management principles and research tools. Tech-savvy with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Clear Communication and Attention to Detail: Ability to express clearly and concisely; strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
Ownership, Initiative, and Teamwork: Self-starter who takes ownership and follows through; strong customer-service orientation and ability to work within a team.
Organization and Project Management: Ability to balance tasks of varying urgency and complexity and work under pressure with tight timelines.
Flexibility: Availability after hours as needed; comfortable in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities; collaborative approach to tasks across the Firm.
Confidentiality: Ability to adhere to Firm policies on protecting confidential data and to exercise good judgment with sensitive information.

Location: Based in New York or Washington, DC; hybrid schedule with standard hours (9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday).
