This position supports quality and safety designed to improve patient outcomes and reduce risk of patient harm. This position will also be called upon to assist in coaching others in methods that will improve safety and quality of care. The Quality Improvement Coordinator is the lead team member in developing regular statistical reports, data gathering and data management and ad hoc statistical reports, as related to quality projects and initiatives at CCMC. In addition, this position will be called upon to facilitate quality teams, chair groups and subgroups and will be expected to work closely with all staff hospital-wide on specific quality projects. This person works closely with Information Technology to support EMR development, audit and report quality efforts. In addition, the Quality Improvement Coordinator may support, facilitate and or lead internal and external multidisciplinary improvement projects which may include auditing and data submission for SPS, NSQIP, CHA, CHAT and other collaboratives as indicated. This position may lead the operations of these projects, support the education of staff and serve as subject matter expert regarding safety and improvement science.
Responsibilities
Lead team member in developing regular statistical reports, data gathering and data management and ad hoc statistical reports for quality projects and initiatives at CCMC.
Facilitate quality teams, chair groups and subgroups and work closely with hospital staff on specific quality projects.
Collaborate with Information Technology to support EMR development, audit and report quality efforts.
Support, facilitate and/or lead internal and external multidisciplinary improvement projects including auditing and data submission for SPS, NSQIP, CHA, CHAT and other collaboratives as indicated.
Lead the operations of these projects, support staff education and serve as a subject matter expert regarding safety and improvement science.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or PharmD
Licensure required with a minimum of 3 years clinical nursing or pharmacy experience
3 years quality improvement, education, or process improvement experience
Requires Quality or Patient Safety Certification within 3 years of date of hire
Master's degree in business or a health related field is a plus
Understanding of Quality Improvement methodology and knowledge in data collection and analysis
Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work with all members of the health care team to achieve positive outcomes
Ability to adapt to a changing healthcare environment and requirements
Certification/Licensure
Valid Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse or PharmD required with license to practice in the State of Texas
