Overview The Department of Biomechanical Engineering and Informatics – part of the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at IU Indianapolis – invites applicants for a Lecturer appointment in the Health Informatics Program. Exceptional instructors are being sought to join our fast-growing department. The appointment can begin immediately on the IU Indianapolis campus but will remain open until filled.
Responsibilities Teach in the Health Informatics Program and develop courses for traditional and online classroom settings, including computer labs.
Help set program goals, develop and continually update the curriculum and training activities.
Contribute to recruitment and marketing of the program; interview, evaluate and advise students.
Engage in scholarly activity and serve as a member of school and departmental committees.
Maintain current knowledge in the field through active participation in professional organizations, collaboration, practice and research; serve on professional committees.
Requirements Ph.D. or M.D. degree, preferably in Health or Biomedical Informatics or a related field, or
MS degree (MS/MPH/MBA) with 10+ years of experience in Health Informatics.
The Lecturer is expected to cover major areas of the AMIA core competencies of Health Informatics Education that lie at the intersection of (1) Health Information Science and Technology; (2) Human Factors and Socio-technical systems; and (3) Social and Behavioral Aspects of Health.
Appointment and Work Arrangement This is an in-person faculty appointment requiring full-time on-campus presence. Salary is competitive based on experience and qualifications.
