Employment Full time, Night Shift – 12 Hr, 40 hours per week. Regular employee, Employee Classification: Regular.
Position Summary Clinically accountable for coordinating the care of an assigned group of labor and delivery patients. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care through outcome identification and evidence‑based practice.
Position Responsibilities Coordinate care on the unit/department, working toward specific outcomes for each assigned patient.
Prioritize and coordinate needs of the overall unit as well as those of individual patients.
Interact with physicians and case management to coordinate care and effectively problem‑solve to establish appropriate plans of care.
Assign, direct, and evaluate delegated care given by other nursing team members.
Perform patient assessment and develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimes.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision‑making.
Educate patient and family about disease process, individual care needs, and safety issues.
Delegate and monitor care rendered by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
Position Qualifications Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid NJ RN license.
Minimum of 2 years current and appropriate acute care nursing experience preferred.
Certification in an appropriate specialty preferred.
Demonstrates knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate team efforts.
BSN preferred.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $44.31 – $60.11 (varies by experience).
