Yeshiva University announces its proposed new DDS program and is hiring new faculty and staff to support the school. The curriculum will integrate Digital Dentistry techniques to be taught by today's dental thought leaders and master clinicians. The school plans to provide a unique 36‑month dental education program through an innovative "Block" style curriculum, which will ensure in-depth learning and understanding. The Yeshiva University College of Dental Medicine is seeking a Clinical Informatics Trainer/Analyst (Dentrix Ascend Superuser) to serve as the primary superuser and subject matter expert for the dental school's EHR system. This role is responsible for system implementation, optimization, user training, reporting, and ongoing support across all clinical operations. The Trainer/Analyst will collaborate with faculty, staff, IT, and vendors to ensure Dentrix Ascend is fully leveraged to support efficient workflows, accurate data management, compliance, and high‑quality patient care.
Position Responsibilities
System Support & Optimization
Serve as the primary superuser for Dentrix Ascend, ensuring optimal utilization across school clinics
Demonstrated superuser‑level experience in an EHR environment, with strong proficiency in documentation, scheduling, and reporting tools
Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training sessions, both in‑person and virtually
Provide direct support to faculty, staff, and students for troubleshooting, workflow efficiency, and effective EHR use
Identify, design, and implement workflow and process improvements to enhance clinical efficiency
Test, validate, and implement new features, upgrades, and system integrations
Collaborate with IT and vendors on data transfer, HL7 integrations, and maintenance tasks
Training & Education
Develop and deliver training programs for new hires, existing staff, and students, including onboarding, go‑live, and refresher sessions
Create and maintain comprehensive training materials, documentation, and workflow guides
Clearly communicate technical concepts to end‑users with varying levels of experience
Reporting & Data Management
Create, customize, and manage dashboards, KPI reports, and quality metrics
Support data extraction, import, and validation for compliance and internal reporting
Provide EHR documentation and data for institutional, state, and federal audits
System Administration
Manage user accounts, access privileges, and configuration settings within Dentrix Ascend
Ensure data security, compliance, and confidentiality of patient and institutional records
Troubleshoot user and technical issues, escalating as necessary to IT or vendors
Collaboration & Culture
Partner with clinical leadership to align EHR workflows with accreditation standards and institutional goals
Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement
Experience & Education Background
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Information Technology, Informatics, or related field
Minimum five (5) years of hands‑on experience as a Dentrix Ascend (or Dentrix Enterprise) superuser in a clinical or academic healthcare setting
Strong understanding of clinical workflows in dental or healthcare environments
Proficiency with data reporting, dashboard development, and quality metrics
Skilled in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
Strong communication, training, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to deliver professional‑level customer service and end‑user support
Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance standards
Skills & Competencies
Demonstrated Expertise in Dentrix Ascend functionality, optimization, and administration
Ability to analyze and redesign workflows to improve efficiency and outcomes
Strong public speaking and presentation skills for training and user education
Technical aptitude in healthcare IT systems, reporting tools, and integrations
Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams and support an inclusive environment
Salary Range
$70.00 - $75.00 per hour
