Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non‑profit organization dedicated to empowering people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges, trauma survivors, and those at risk to live lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Case Manager, Mental Health Professional, Crisis Care Counselor, Mobile who shares this mission and wants to make a meaningful impact in our community.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Every other Friday 6 am‑6 pm

What you will be doing?

Provide crisis intervention, de‑escalation, emotional support, and suicide risk assessment to callers via AID’s 24/7 crisis line.

Manage and assess incoming Mobile Crisis referrals from 988, local police departments, and other community services.

Conduct in‑person Mobile Crisis Response throughout Kendall and Southern Kane County when phone escalation is insufficient.

Complete in‑person assessments to determine suicide risk, level of care, and create safety plans.

Collaborate with AID staff and external service providers to meet all client needs and promote community stabilization.

Maintain required documentation for crisis intervention services on the phone and in the community.

Adhere to scheduled work hours, respond to calls throughout shifts, and provide crisis line coverage when not on mobile response.

Offer individual crisis counseling, consult with families and providers, and apply intervention tactics to reduce symptomatology.

Deliver program coverage in scheduled or emergency situations and meet monthly minimum productivity standards.

Complete clinical assessments that satisfy program funders and administrative rules, including Rule 132 standards.

Provide effective telephone counseling with active listening and motivational interviewing.

Complete required documentation and billing logs in a timely manner, including MCRT daily logs, dispatch logs, 988 follow‑up, and iCarol contact logs before shift end.

Attend clinical supervision at least once per month as assigned by program manager or director.

Maintain open communication with agency staff, families, and clients, and engage in continuous training and development.

Follow all Program 590 guidelines and expectations for the Mobile Crisis Response Grant and IDPH Department of Mental Health.

What you bring to the table
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field (required). • Knowledge of DSM‑5 (or current edition) and Rule 132. • Bilingual – Spanish preferred.

Experience
• At least 1 year of behavioral health experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to communicate in person, by phone, and in group settings.

• Frequent standing, walking, stair navigation.

• Provide services in client homes and the community.

• Drive and work overnights required.

Equipment
• Professional office environment and off‑site community settings.

• Standard office equipment: computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets.

Additional Requirements

Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and rotating holidays.

Ability to work rotating on‑call shifts and cover non‑scheduled shifts.

Reliable transportation to and from work, maintained automobile liability insurance per AID policy, and valid driver’s license.

Cultural competency and community awareness when working with diverse populations.

Multiple location capability and ability to work with a wide geographic range.

Complete required training within 30 days of hire: First Aid, CPR, Non‑violent Crisis Intervention Training, CEUs, and other relevant sessions.
