Case Manager Recovery Support Specialist Crisis Care Counselor‑Mobile RSS who demonstrates our mission and wants to make a meaningful difference in the community.

Responsibilities

Utilize lived experience with mental health diagnosis to support clients in decreasing mental health dysfunction, increasing community functioning, and achieving recovery goals.

Provide crisis intervention, de‑escalation, emotional support and suicide risk assessment to callers via phone and in person.

Manage and assess incoming Mobile Crisis referrals from 988 and local police departments through AID’s 24/7 crisis line.

Provide in‑person Mobile Crisis Response throughout Kendall and Southern Kane County.

Collaborate with AID staff and community service providers to meet client needs and promote community stabilization.

Maintain documentation required for crisis intervention services on the phone and in the community.

Maintain scheduled work hours; respond to calls from shift start to shift end; provide crisis line coverage when not on mobile response.

Offer effective individual crisis counseling and crisis intervention assessments, including telephone counseling through active listening and motivational interviewing.

Consult with family members, case managers, and other service providers, using intervention tactics to reduce symptomology.

Provide independent program coverage when scheduled or in emergencies.

Complete clinical documentation in accordance with program funders and administrative rules.

Submit billing and required documentation on a timely basis (e.g., MCRT daily logs, Dispatch logs, 988 follow‑ups).

Attend clinical supervision at least once per month.

Meet monthly minimum predetermined productivity standards.

Develop and implement crisis safety plans and resource follow‑up with clients, following Rule 132 standards.

Provide case management follow‑up for clients to support linkage to services.

Maintain records of individuals served (MCR‑T) in accordance with Rule 132 and quality assurance procedures.

Communicate effectively with agency and provider staff, families, and others responding to client needs.

Navigate Cx360 and crisis line documentation systems; submit documentation efficiently.

Recognize emergency situations and take appropriate action per procedure; complete necessary paperwork correctly.

Participate in training and development opportunities as assigned.

Promote awareness of mental health internally and externally.

Adhere to all Program 590 guidelines and expectations as outlined by the Mobile Crisis Response Grant and IDPH.

What You Bring

High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Human Services preferred)

Bilingual Spanish preferred

CRSS (Certified Recovery Support Specialist) certification preferred, or obtain within one year of hire.

Experience in mental health; individual must be in recovery from mental health illness or co‑occurring substance use disorder.

Strong communication skills, cultural competency, and community awareness.

Additional Requirements & Physical Demands

Flexibility to work evening, overnight, weekend, and rotating holiday shifts.

Ability to work rotating on‑call shifts and cover non‑scheduled shifts as needed.

Reliable transportation; maintain automobile liability insurance and a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Must be able to stand, walk, navigate stairs, and provide services in clients’ homes and community settings.

Must drive self and clients in an agency or personal vehicle.

Complete mandatory training within 30 days of hire (First Aid, CPR, Non‑violent Crisis Intervention, CEUs, etc.).
