Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Chief Dental Officer, the Care Coordinator‑Dental at Carolina Family Dental Center monitors and coordinates patients' treatment plans, provides oral health education, and ensures that dental care is completed in an efficient and timely manner. This position offers a 40‑hour workweek, no weekends, full benefits package, 12 paid holidays, bi‑weekly pay.
Essential Tasks
Provide patient instruction and demonstration where necessary, as directed by the dentist.
Build and maintain a positive relationship with patients.
Review treatment plans with patients.
Create and review financial estimates with patients for any major dental treatment plans.
Verify insurance benefits for patients.
Create, send, and document prior authorizations for dental treatment.
Coordinate and monitor dental referrals.
Manage medical consultations for dental treatment.
Experience and Education
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum two years of clinical dental experience.
Thorough and up‑to‑date knowledge of the practice of dentistry.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge of current principles and practices of public health.
Knowledge of audiovisual materials and equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
May need to sit or stand for long periods, occasional bending, stooping, lifting of patients, reaching forwards and overhead.
Walking primarily on level surfaces throughout the day.
Lifting techniques and frequent computer work required.
Must be able to travel freely in the local area; between clinics, hospitals, health departments, etc.

Base Pay Overview
The starting pay for this position is $15.00 hourly. Actual salary will vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
