About The Organization Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health diagnosis. PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.

General Description Delivery of case management services to a female population related to substance use and mental health. Services include outreach, identification, screening, assessment and referral to community sources to address health, social and economic need. Extensive liaison work with referral sources. Responsible for tracking of assigned clients and maintenance of appropriate records in a timely and accurate manner. Case manager is also responsible for monitoring and expanding referral networks with agencies and organizations.

Education And Experience Bachelors degree in a directly related field plus four years of direct client service experience in mental health or substance use required.
Master’s degree in counseling or a directly related field with two years of direct client service experience in mental health or substance use, licensed or pursuing licensure preferred.
Consultation/Liaison Services Establish a collaborative, integrated relationship with staff to assure effective service coordination.
Provide appropriate Brief Interventions, using principles of Motivational Interviewing, to Parents to motivate and ensure compliance to screening recommendations.
Establish educational groups for parents to provide appropriate information regarding substance abuse.
Understands requirements of mandated reporting of suspected child abuse or neglect and promptly staffs any possible incidents with supervisor.
Demonstrates knowledge of accepted principles of client record management.
Protects client rights to privacy and confidentiality in the preparation and handling of records, especially in relation to the communication of client information with third parties
Prepares accurate, timely, and concise client records that are consistent with agency standards and comply with all applicable confidentiality rights of adolescents.
Professional And Ethical Responsibilities Adheres to the agency code of ethics and business practices, professional codes of ethics, and all applicable state and federal laws regarding the treatment of substance use disorders.
Utilizes supervision, self-evaluation, and consultation to enhance self-awareness and counseling skills and professional development.
Regularly participates in continuing education.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Competencies Understanding Addiction: Understands models and theories of addiction and uses this knowledge to plan intervention strategies with clients.
Recognizes the social, political, economic and cultural context within which addiction and substance use exist.
Identifies the behavioral, psychological, physical health and social effects of psychoactive substances on the client and family members.
Recognizes the potential for substance use disorders to mimic medical and psychological disorders and the potential for co-existing conditions.
Understands the impact of substance use on adolescent development.
Treatment Knowledge: Is aware of philosophies, practices, policies, and outcomes of treatment models and develops treatment plans incorporating this knowledge.
Participates in interdisciplinary approach to treatment planning and delivery of treatment services.
Application to Practice: Uses diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders to determine appropriate placement within the continuum of care.
Employs interventions tailored to client-language literacy, cultural identity, learning preferences and disabilities, and spiritual and personal identity.
Is familiar with medical and pharmacological resources in treatment of substance use disorders.
Understands contractual and program requirements for provision of services and meets agency standards.
Documentation Demonstrates knowledge of accepted principles of client record management.
Protects client rights to privacy and confidentiality in records handling, especially regarding third-party communication.
Prepares accurate, timely, and concise client records that comply with agency standards and confidentiality rights of adolescents.

Schedule FT 40 hours/week. Monday - Friday with one Sunday once a month; OR Saturday or Sunday - Thursday; OR Tuesday - Saturday.
Workplace Standards Adheres to company time and attendance standards; understands needs of a 24-hour residential program if applicable. Demonstrates knowledge of company policy and procedure. Performs other duties as assigned and maintains a safe work environment.
Special Requirements Must have a valid driver\'s license or state identification card.
Must pass a level II background check and drug screen.
