OBGYN Triage Nurse

The OBGYN Triage Nurse (LPN) provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. They also provide extensive OBGYN triage via telephone.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing extensive triage of OB/GYN patients via phone and calls patients with test results.
  • Performing fetal non-stress test (NST).
  • Preparing patients for examination and assisting physician during treatment/procedures, examinations and testing of patients.
  • Recording patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
  • Measuring, recording, and documenting vital signs.
  • Where applicable, performing phlebotomy, injections, and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
  • Preparing and administering medications as directed by a provider.
  • Authorizing drug refills as directed.
  • Educating patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider; answering questions.
  • Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Sterilizing medical instruments per established standards and procedures.
  • Representing the office in a professional manner. Treating all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
  • Participating in team activities and professional development activities.
  • Demonstrating and embodying the Women's Care mission and core values.
  • Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong bedside manner and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a stressful, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers, and patients in a courteous and effective manner.
  • Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, eCW a plus.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
