Job Description
To manage the plan of care for a caseload of patients, assuming 24‑hour responsibility for patient care. Serve as liaison with the multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with physicians, nursing staff, and other health professionals to ensure high‑quality outcomes within established time frames and appropriate resource use. May coordinate follow‑up clinics, schedule tests and surgeries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and three (3) years of relevant clinical nursing experience OR Associate’s degree in Nursing and five (5) years of relevant clinical nursing experience (Bachelor’s preferred). Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required or obtained within 30 days of employment.
Depending on unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA may be required.
