The 3 Seidman Oncology/Palliative Unit provides medical, neurological and telemetry care for inpatient and observation patients who have cancer, are receiving cancer treatments, or have related diagnoses. As an RN on this team, you will interact with patients, families and visitors to enhance their experience and provide healthcare information as needed.
This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.
Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.

Shift and Schedule A caregiver in this position works night shifts from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
Minimum qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
Military RN experience may be considered.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
(ONS) Chemo/Bio course completed within 2 years of employment if on units where chemo is administered.
Preferred qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion including lifting patients, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Works under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium work with exertion levels as specified; physical demands may exceed Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment Follows standard precautions using PPE as required.
