Role Purpose
Provides coordination for respiratory care services in a leadership capacity, including staffing oversight and operational compliance. Acts as liaison with other departments to ensure safe, effective patient care.
Responsibilities
Provides oversight for daily respiratory care operational activities that support patient care by determining staffing needs and projecting staffing plans for upcoming shifts.
Performs and coordinates various diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to established standards and policies, serving as a resource to others through education and training.
Displays appropriate leadership skills in leading people, demonstrating trust, dignity, respect, high ethical standards, teamwork, and accountability, effectively communicating and exchanging information.
Manages multiple priorities and applies effective time management skills, coaching and mentoring others during downtime and operating effectively in a team-based environment, especially during stressful situations involving quickly changing priorities.
Analyzes critical situations and applies appropriate judgment and critical thinking for problem resolution, continuously improving and taking initiative to develop self and others, staying current on operational issues, priorities, policies, procedures, and best practices related to respiratory care.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Associate’s or CoARC accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
Experience
2–5 years of respiratory therapy experience.
Supervisor Experience
No experience required.
Licenses & Certifications
Basic Cardiovascular Life Support, Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT.
Preferred Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience
5–10 years of respiratory therapy experience.
Supervisor Experience
2–5 years of supervisory experience.
