Base pay: $69,161.00/yr - $121,310.00/yr
Summary
The Wound Care Program Coordinator (WCPC) provides leadership to nursing staff in all aspects of wound, ostomy, and continence nursing. The WCPC supports Nurse Managers in developing, implementing, and managing the Wound Care and Pressure Injury Prevention Program within Nursing Service.
Qualifications
English language proficiency: basic written and spoken English.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by an accredited agency (ACEN or CCNE), or attending a master's level bridge program with equivalent coursework, or foreign graduate with recognized equivalency.
Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
Preferred: Wound Care Certification, knowledge of MS products, Excel, SharePoint.
Physical requirement: a physical examination will be required if selected.
Duties
Collect, monitor, analyze, and communicate nursing-sensitive pressure injury prevention and management indicators at unit and service levels.
Lead and organize wound, ostomy, and continence nursing care, providing comprehensive holistic care using the nursing process.
Develop and coordinate Patient Care Service Performance Improvement Plans, tracking and trending process activities.
Collaborate with Unit Level Nurse Managers and the Interprofessional Pressure Injury Committee.
Provide education and training to patients, families, and nursing staff on wound, ostomy, and continence management.
Manage equipment and supplies, monitor prevalence of pressure ulcers, and coordinate prevalence studies.
Serve as PCS Service Recovery Contact and represent on medical center and service committees.
Provide specialized consultation and collaborate with physicians and other professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
Prescribe appropriate treatment consults such as wound dressings, ointments, advanced therapies, and specialty mattresses.
