Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director and support of the Executive Director, the Youth Development Program Case Manager is to ensure participant files are maintained and the information required in the OSMIS/WIOA database is up to date and aligns with participant files and contract requirements. The Program Case Manager is responsible for making sure the program participants are meeting their goals, accessing the 14 elements and engaging in activities that will lead to participants positively exiting the program. In addition, the Program Case Manager supports the YMCA’s Teen Achievers programming initiative by serving as a lead or co‑facilitator at middle/high school Achievers at our in‑school sites, after school, evening and some Saturday workshops. Teen Achievers is a high school completion program designed under 5 core pillars: Academics, College Knowledge, Positive Relationships, Life Skills and Positive Identity. The ultimate outcome is to connect each young person with resources that lead each young adult to graduate high school, pursue post‑secondary education, armed services and/or vocational training/skilled trades—resulting in the young person attending college and/or attaining viable employment and positively contributing to the community. Responsibilities will also include some program administrator duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Direct Services with youth ages 14-24

Maintain a caseload and individual student files as mandated by Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA).

Ensure all required documents are accurately completed and in student files

Input and Maintain OSMIS state electronic records in accordance with WIOA requirements for all WIOA participants.

Assess youth via Individual Service Support (ISS) and provide resources that support the youth individual needs.

Work closely with Directors and other MYY team and other team members as appropriate to acquire all participant documents.

Identify employment opportunities and resources for program participants.

Grow Detroit Young Talent SYE site recruiter, job developer and facilitator.

Recruitment, registration and retention of youth for all program participants (GDYT, Teen Achievers, Youth in Government, In‑School and After School sites).

Assist with planning and execution of program events and activities

Serve as lead facilitator for Teen Achievers programming at 2-3 school sites, Thursday evenings and some Saturday’s.

Serve as a liaison between the YMCA, family, and community. Attend partnership meetings and other community meeting

Conduct interviews with work site supervisors, parent/guardian.

Additional duties as assigned.

Must support the mission of the YMCA of Metro Detroit and promote family activities, to promote youth values, to promote physical and mental fitness, to promote international understanding and include the following Character Development Values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a related area of work is required, BSW preferred. Any state requirements as needed.

Case management in a youth development program, preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with diverse communities and organizations required.

Reliable transportation is essential. Must possess a competent working knowledge of technology, including Word Processing and a variety of database software required.

Familiarity with OSMIS/ WIOA requirements and systems preferred

Current CPR and First Aid certification is required

Be proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access)

Utilize effective time management
