Overview We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner in the Los Angeles area who shares a passion for providing dignified, compassionate end-of-life care. This position covers the Los Angeles area. Shift Schedule: PRN, fully variable with a preference for Saturday/Sunday availability.
Responsibilities Assess signs and symptoms of discomfort, including pain, and take prompt and appropriate action
Initiate plan of care; provide services to patients and families in all settings
Conduct direct Face to Face visits to referred and existing patients and contact the physician for patient updates
Maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations and JCAHO standards (if applicable)
Participate in the QAPI program
Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of Advanced Practice Registered Nursing
End of Life Nursing Education Program (ELNEC) – to include all 8 modules must be completed within 18 months of employment with Silverado Hospice
Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License in the state of employment
MSN or Doctoral Degree required
Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing desired
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record as a condition of employment; comply with state and federal driving regulations
Ability to maintain a valid and active driver’s license; may be reassigned, suspended, or terminated for license issues per company policies and laws
Reliable transportation and willingness to drive to patient locations
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must clear a criminal background check, physical, and drug screening
May be required to work outside regular hours based on business needs
What you’ll be doing Assess signs and symptoms of discomfort and take prompt action
Provide direct visits to referred and existing patients and update the physician as needed
Stay current with regulations and standards; participate in quality improvement activities
Compensation Anticipated pay range: $80 USD per hour
