Overview Phone Triage Nurse - Pediatrics at Duly Health and Care. Full-time role with hours Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00pm; rotating Saturdays 8:00-12:00pm. Location onsite with potential remote work after minimum training.
Responsibilities Triage phone responses: manage patient health concerns and symptoms via physician-approved protocols, provide assessment, education, and crisis intervention as needed. Respond to incoming patient messages and test results, schedule appointments, tests, and procedures, obtain insurance prior authorization as required, and review/authorize/deny provider ordered prescriptions per guidelines. Deliver patient education and advise on diagnostics, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance. Provide patient reassurance and medical advice using Duly Health and Care protocols or Nursing Triage Manual.
Patient documentation: maintain accurate records; post tests and document patient education; enter pertinent communications into the Medical Record.
Clinical resource for staff: assist in routines, address coding and reimbursement issues, answer questions for clinical and non-clinical staff, orient/train new staff, and seek opportunities to improve nursing and leadership skills.
Other duties as assigned: provide patient care using current nursing practices, advocate for patients, and support the health care team in delivering service excellence. Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Current RN licensure.
Knowledge of nursing skills per Nurse Practice Act; knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA.
Prefer a minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in clinical or hospital settings; new graduates may be considered under specific circumstances.
