Overview
MidSouth OBGYN, a practice partner of Together Women's Health , is seeking a full time Phone Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team!
As an experienced practitioner, the Registered Nurse is accountable for providing high quality, individualized, goal directed care for all patients and their families through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
Responsibilities
Primary:
Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions
Completes paperwork such as refilling medication, ordering lab tests, x-rays, school/work notes, FMLA, etc.
Assessing patients and determining priority and referring for emergency care
Counsels’ patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level
Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient
Administers immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed; records and documents all such activities in the chart
Coordinates ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff
Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient
Reports all test results to the patient as directed by the physician
Secondary:
Prepare patients for and assist with examination or treatments
Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient
Provides education and information to patients and family members
Consults with other specialties and disciplines as appropriate to meet all health care needs of patients
Uses organizational skills to effectively complete assignments in timely manner
Completes paperwork such as ordering lab tests, x-rays, school/work notes, FMLA, etc.
Counsels’ patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level
Understand and enforce standard health care regulatory requirements
Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties
Document Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions
Assure HIPAA and OSHA compliance
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
State of TN Registered Nurse License
BLS certification
At least one year of working experience as an RN
OB/GYN experience preferred, but not required
