Pediatric Palliative Care - Health Sciences Series

The Department of Pediatrics, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, seek a qualified BE/BC Pediatric Palliative Care physician to join the growing Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care Program (PPPCP) and serve in a clinician-educator role with an academic appointment in the Health Science series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. The clinical focus and mission of the PPPCP is to provide robust, inter-disciplinary pediatric palliative care to infants, children, and adolescents dealing with the symptoms and stress of serious illness. This full-time position is in a highly academic department focused on research, clinical practice and teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Duties will primarily include patient care (both inpatient consultation and outpatient clinic visits), teaching trainees rotating with the service (medical students, pediatric residents, and sub-specialty fellows), and participation in creative program development or scholarly efforts, such as clinical research, that will lead to academic advancement. Applicants must be certified by the American Board of Pediatrics or other board-certified residency (e.g. Family Medicine or combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics) and must be board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. The candidate must be licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in California. Experience in teaching is a strong plus. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
