Summary Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs technical skills under the direction of the registered nurse.
Required Education/Training Unlicensed Assistive Personnel training or equivalent competency as per regulatory requirements. Candidates may include:
Previous nursing or practical nursing licensure candidates who failed the exam in the past three years.
Current certification as a nursing assistant (Missouri C.N.A.).
Documented education as an emergency medical technician, medical assistant, or surgical technician.
Two years of experience as a nurse assistant in the past three years.
Completed a foreign professional or practical nursing program, awaiting U.S. licensure.
Required Licensure/Certification/Registration BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
Preferred Education/Training High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
Preferred Experience Minimum six months recent experience in an acute care setting.
