Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) seeks a BE/BC Palliative Care Physician for inpatient and outpatient services. Under the supervision of the Palliative Care Medical Director, the faculty member will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent clinical care. The successful candidate will join a system-wide effort to ensure integrated palliative care, including developing and implementing clinical protocols and best practices across various patient populations.

Interprofessional clinical team; physicians, APNs, RNs, and SWs who provide pain and non-pain symptom management and specialty palliative care for patients as they receive care from their primary care or treatment team
Identify opportunities to enhance the patient and family experience
Optimize resource utilization for complex medical and psychosocial barriers
Opportunity to participate in resident, fellow, and student education
Potential for faculty appointment with Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine
Full-time position, flexible schedule, and shared call schedule
Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient palliative care services and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. Develop and implement clinical protocols and best practices across patient populations. Contribute to system-wide efforts to integrate palliative care into overall treatment plans.
Qualifications M.D./D.O. degree from a recognized medical or osteopathic school
New Jersey Medical License or ability to obtain
Hospice & Palliative Medicine (HPM) board-eligible/certified, with fellowship training OR 2 years of experience in HPM beyond board certification (will consider 2026 palliative fellowship graduates)
Interest in education and building a palliative care fellowship program
Strong clinical and collaborative skills
Ability to balance emotionally challenging situations and provide care in complex, life-limiting scenarios
Capable of offering specialized knowledge to all members of the health care staff
Team-oriented with the ability to provide personalized patient care as well as family support and demonstrate clinical outcomes

Compensation $222,896
HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay and does not reflect the full value of our total rewards package. The final compensation will be discussed during the interview process. Factors that may influence pay include specialization, experience, leadership roles, education, productivity, skills, location, internal equity, and budget considerations.
