Job Summary The Reflections Coordinator is responsible for managing all facets of service to address resident care needs in the Memory Care Community. The Reflections Coordinator hires, trains, supervises and schedules the caregivers and med techs. The Reflections Coordinator monitors resident care needs, alerts the Wellness Director when a resident’s condition changes, addresses resident and family concerns, responds to resident special requests, and acts as a liaison with community providers. The role requires genuine interest in residents with dementia and patience when working with residents, families, and visitors. Responsibilities are carried out in accordance with current federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

Position Overview Manage the staffing needs of the Reflections Community by interviewing, hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling caregiver and med tech coverage.
Assist the Business Office Manager with new hire paperwork, tracking attendance, monitoring time sheets, employee evaluations, and staying within staffing budget.
Identify staff educational needs including orientation training, weekly mini-modules, and mandatory in-service meetings for memory care staff.
Conduct training for dementia-related behaviors, interventions, and conditions.
Ensure care staff are educated about the needs of residents with dementia and aware of negotiated service plans and task sheets.
Observe and report symptoms and changes in resident condition to the Wellness Director.
Assist in administering medications and document reactions.
Maintain records reflecting residents’ conditions.
Direct supervision and coordination of care delivery to address resident health care needs.
Demonstrate problem-solving and adaptability within MorningStar standards and guidelines.
Promote teamwork across departments.
Ensure resident care managers report changes in resident conditions to the Wellness Director and document them in the Daily Log.
Prepare and administer medications according to procedure.
Develop, maintain, and update resident Negotiated Service Plans, Assessments, and task/assignment sheets at move-in, at change of condition, and every 3 months, in collaboration with other departments.
Maintain ongoing communication with residents and families regarding care needs and offer counseling as needed.
Ensure infection control guidelines are met and maintain supplies of gloves and protective equipment.
Report suspected resident abuse immediately; complete incident reports and follow up with the Wellness Director and Executive Director within 24 hours according to guidelines.
Complete the Incident tracker monthly and collaborate on interventions and reductions in incidents for QA/safety committee reviews.
Coordinate state-required training with the Wellness Director to ensure regulatory compliance.
Facilitate involvement in activities and ensure one-on-one time for residents who cannot attend.
Collaborate with Life Enrichment Coordinator to set up dementia-specific daily activity schedules.
Ensure activity interest/ability assessments are included in the resident service plan.
Coordinate quarterly support groups for resident family members.
Qualifications Demonstration of Core Values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect.
License/Certification: Successful completion of State-approved Medication Administration training and a current first aid certificate.
Education/Experience: Minimum of 2 years of health-related experience including dementia care; supervisory/management experience with people with dementia preferred.
Job Knowledge: Knowledge of dementia care procedures, standard personal care techniques, infection prevention, and development of negotiated care plans.
Other: Ability to read and interpret safety and instruction documents, strong English communication skills, and ability to follow written and oral directions; provide maximum resident care within delegated tasks.
