This position will collaborate and act as a liaison between injured team members, plant management, medical providers, and corporate workers compensation to ensure that all necessary information and questions are timely addressed. The role will ensure injured or ill team members are returned to their optimum level of function within the shortest time possible and will be responsible for the following functions: maintain a close working relationship with plant health services, human resources, and operations management; develop individual medical case management plans for injured team members; maintain close relationships with local medical providers who treat injured team members; maintain relationships with injured team members through return to permanent placement or settlement of the case if permanent placement is available; initiate the permanent placement process once permanent medical restrictions are assigned and act as company liaison to explain benefits provided through workers’ compensation. Telephonic case management may be required occasionally.

Responsibilities Collaborate and act as liaison between injured team members, plant management, medical providers, and corporate workers' compensation
Ensure timely addressing of information and questions related to cases
Develop individual medical case management plans for injured team members
Maintain relationships with local medical providers that treat injured team members
Support injured team members through return to permanent placement or settlement of the case, when applicable
Initiate permanent placement processes once permanent medical restrictions are assigned
Explain benefits provided through workers’ compensation to relevant parties
Occasionally provide telephonic case management as needed
Qualifications Education: Completion in an accredited registered nursing (RN) program or certification in an accredited vocational rehabilitation field
Certification: Commission for Case Management Certification CCMC-CCM or American Board of Occupational Health Nursing ABOHN-CM required upon hire or within 18 months of hire
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Occupational Health Nursing preferred; knowledge of state workers’ compensation regulations preferred
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; strong people skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members, from hourly to upper management, as well as with government officials
Special Skills: Same certifications as above ( CCMC-CCM or ABOHN-CM) as required upon hire or within 18 months
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and walk during duty; may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and other infections; capable of responding timely to emergencies
Travel: Minimum 1–3 trips per year outside the assigned location, plus frequent local travel to meet with medical providers and to visit team members during hospital stays
