$20.60/hr – $25.80/hr
Job Overview
The Medication Care Manager is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner. They support the Mission of Sunrise Senior Living to champion the quality of life for all seniors, in accordance with federal, state, provincial, and local laws and Sunrise policies.
Responsibilities
Administer medication and treatments safely and in an organized manner.
Document medication administration in the electronic health record, ensuring accuracy, initialing, and recording any refusals or missed doses.
Maintain medication carts, restock, and ensure they are clean and stocked with current supplies.
Assist with monitoring the medication pass times, utilizing the mobile med cart and the Six Rights of Medication.
Count narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Lead Care Manager, reporting discrepancies.
Communicate resident medication concerns to the Resident Care Director (RCD) or Wellness Nurse.
Participate in resident care communications, including notifying RCD of concerns and attending Cross Over meetings.
Contribute to risk management and general safety, following PPE, fire, and lockout procedures.
Support resident communication, responding with empathy, and maintain dignity and safety.
Collaborate with the team to develop Individualized Service Plans (ISP) and participate in engagement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with required trainings and certifications, including CPR and First Aid.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED (required in some states).
At least 18 years old.
Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
Desire to serve and care for seniors.
Valid certifications per state or provincial regulations (e.g., CPR, First Aid).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Capacity to handle multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
Basic knowledge of medication administration, Six Rights of Medication, and infection control.
