Job Overview The Medication Care Manager is responsible for providing the highest quality of care and services by administering medications and treatments in a safe, organized manner. Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation of medication administration, and providing resident care in alignment with the Sunrise Senior Living Mission: to champion the quality of life for all seniors, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and Sunrise policies.
Responsibilities
Medication Administration: provide high-quality care by administering medications and treatments safely and in an organized manner.
Documentation: review, read, notate, and initial the electronic health record to document pertinent information about residents; restock medication cart after passes.
Communication: receive medication updates from the Resident Care Director (RCD) or Wellness Nurse; notify RCD of resident or family concerns; attend daily cross over meetings.
Medication Management: administer, assist with, and observe medications and treatments using the MAR and the Six Rights of Medication Pass; ensure timing and documentation for refusals or missed doses; count narcotics with another MCM/LCM each shift and report discrepancies.
Safety and Compliance: maintain confidentiality of resident information; follow re-fill processes; adhere to infection control practices and PPE, SDS, and fire-safety requirements; ensure safe storage and disposal of medications and hazardous materials.
Resident-Centered Care: help residents maintain independence, dignity, and safety; respond empathetically to residents’ communication needs; promote Sunrise Principles of Service.
Housekeeping and Equipment: maintain and clean the Medication Room, carts, and treatment areas; ensure equipment is not a safety hazard.
General Duties: perform other duties as assigned and participate in team engagement and training as required.
Qualifications
High School diploma/GED accepted (per state/provincial regulations); current certifications as required by state/provincial regulations.
CPR and First Aid certifications as required; must be at least 18 years of age.
Previous experience working with seniors preferred; desire to serve and care for seniors.
As applicable, all Sunrise team members who drive a Sunrise vehicle must sign the Driver job description and understand the key safety duties.

Maintain required certifications and ongoing training as required by Sunrise and state/provincial regulations.

Benefits and Compensation
Base pay range: $16.05/hr - $20.15/hr; actual pay based on skills and experience
