Overview Prince George’s County Government seeks qualified applicants for a Lead Clinical Case Manager (Counselor III) in the Behavioral Health Division within the Department of Health. This is a full performance professional lead role providing services and assistance to reentering populations who require assessment and evaluation for treatment and other rehabilitative services in the community. Referrals primarily come through the Department of Corrections, the Community Release Center, and Reentry Court, with referrals to Health Department Clinics, contracted providers, and other community providers.
About The Position This position involves lead level responsibilities and ongoing clinical work, with performance evaluated on accuracy, timeliness, and production. It may include managing a caseload of individual, family, and group counseling sessions commensurate with supervisory duties.

Examples of Work Review and evaluate the casework of staff members.
Conduct weekly staff meetings to discuss policies, rules and regulations, and staff and client issues.
Carr y a caseload of individual, family, and group counseling sessions as appropriate to supervisory duties.
Make recommendations on types of education and treatment based on community needs and agency resources.
Conduct outreach and referral activities.
Review client folders to monitor progress and ensure proper documentation of treatment plans and progress notes.
Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Participate in the selection and training of new employees and provide staff development.
May use automated equipment in conjunction with duties.
Willingly perform tasks within the general occupational category and responsibility level of the class of work.
Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, or Psychology Doctoral Level in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.
Pass a National Counselor Examination and State Law Test; licensed as a Graduate Professional Counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (per Health Occupations Title 17 and COMAR 10.58.01.09).
Must possess one of the following licenses/certifications:
LCPC: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
LGPC: Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor
LCADC: Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor
LGADC: Licensed Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor
LCSW-C: Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Clinical
LCSW: Licensed Certified Social Worker
LMSW: Licensed Master Social Worker
Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with justice-involved individuals or in a related setting
Certification in LS/CMI (Level of Services/Case Management Inventory)
Experience using an electronic database
Experience working with community-based agencies/organizations to access resources/services for returning citizens
Experience in program management
