The Informatics Specialist III will be responsible for assisting in the analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of health informatics systems/applications for Palomar Health. This role will work closely with the clinical, technical and operational teams to ensure that all technology solutions align with Palomar Health goals and enhance patient care, safety, and efficiency.
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of informatics solutions including Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other clinical software solutions. Work collaboratively with clinical teams to align information technology use with best practices for improved clinical outcomes.
Help in the development and maintenance of clinical data standards and workflows to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Assist in developing, maintaining and providing user training programs and materials. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to clinical informatics.
Regularly interact with clinicians and hospital support staff to identify opportunities to improve EMR functionality and improve the user experience. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Education: Master's degree in nursing informatics, healthcare, management or other related field.
Minimum Experience: 8+ years of experience working in health care informatics in a hospital setting and/or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years of experience working in clinical informatics in a hospital setting and/or a combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other clinical software solutions. Familiarity with Cerner is preferred.
