As a Field Nurse Case Manager at Gallagher, you will provide medical management to workers’ compensation injured employees, coordinating care through telephonic and in‑person contact, and ensuring a safe return to work. You will cover the Ocala, FL area with a travel radius of up to 2 hours.
Responsibilities
Coordinate medical evaluation and treatment for injured workers.
Meet with physicians and injured workers to develop and discuss treatment plans and return‑to‑work goals.
Keep employers, referral sources, and medical providers updated on medical treatment and work status.
Coordinate ancillary services such as home health, durable medical equipment, and physical therapy.
Communicate job requirements to employers and explore modified or alternate employment.
Evaluate treatment outcomes using evidence‑based guidelines.
Document case management observations, assessments, and plans.
Generate reports and ongoing correspondence with all parties involved.
Participate in telephonic case conferences as needed.
Maintain a minimum caseload of 35 files, 150 monthly billable hours, and 95% quality compliance.
Required Qualifications
Nursing or medical degree from an accredited institution with an active Registered Nursing license or medical license in the state(s) where case management is performed.
2–4 years of related work experience.
Completion of required training to maintain proficiency and licensing.
Ability to travel within a 2‑hour radius.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.).
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Worker’s Compensation experience.
Certification in a related field.
1–3 years of clinical experience.
Work Traits
Knowledge of managed care, use of criteria, guidelines and national standards of practice.
Advanced written and oral communication; strong organizational and leadership skills.
