Overview Job Opening: Extended Care Coordinator and Office Support For School Year 2025-26
We are looking for an Extended Care Coordinator who is reliable and will support both the social development of our students and their health and safety. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing and developing the extended care program during the school year and organizing and implementing camps during the summer and school breaks. The role is a unique position that supports the full school community through providing and overseeing care of the children outside of their class day, interfacing with families and being an active participant of the school administrative staff.
The job includes managing program enrollment, camp and extended care staff management including hiring, training, scheduling and supervising, and managing program supplies and budget. An ideal candidate has experience working with children and supervising employees. Experience with Waldorf education is preferred.
Responsibilities Manage and develop the extended care program during the school year.
Organize and implement camps during the summer and school breaks.
Provide and oversee care of children outside of the regular class day; interface with families; participate in school administrative activities.
Manage program enrollment, staff management (hiring, training, scheduling, supervising), supplies, and budget.
Office Support Responsibilities Support the school office with scheduled front desk shifts.
Greet and support families who visit the office; take student attendance; answer phone calls; complete data entry tasks.
Provide support to students as needed; serve as a substitute for Lead Administrators when they are visiting classrooms or at AWSNA meetings (dates pre-scheduled at the beginning of the school year).
Schedule and Employment Details This is a year-round part-time position with potential to be full-time at times of the year as decided by Lead Administrators, anticipated to be 30-35 hours/week. Scheduled hours will vary due to seasonal needs.
About the School Olympia Waldorf School is a full member AWSNA and WECAN school that serves students from preschool through eighth grade. Our faculty includes five early childhood teachers (with assistants), eight grades teachers, and specialty teachers, all supported by a full administrative staff.
Compensation Hourly compensation is $19-$25 per hour, depending on qualifications.
