Job Overview The Salvation Army Midland Headquarters is seeking a Disaster Recovery Services (DRS) Case Manager to provide case management services for disaster survivors. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week position with an annual salary of $46,000.00, funded through DRS. The initial employment period is 12 months, subject to extension.
Location: 1130 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, Missouri
Responsibilities Provide disaster recovery services to persons temporarily residing in community settings, including motels, shared homes, and other housing situations.
Determine eligibility and assess survivors’ disaster‑related needs using the prescribed Tier of Need framework; complete intake forms and maintain accurate records and updates in the Coordinated Assistance Network management information system.
Implement long‑term case‑management planning services, preparing individualized disaster recovery plans, setting mutually agreeable client recovery goals, and monitoring progress through regular communication.
Enter client information into The Salvation Army Information Management System (SIMS) and, when necessary, The America Red Cross CANS system, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Provide disaster and non‑disaster information and referral services; assist clients in understanding available resources, referring them to appropriate agencies, and tracking participation.
Liaise between clients, The Salvation Army, and external agencies as needed.
Record agency spending on clients and provide accurate statistical data and reports.
Maintain confidentiality, enforce proper client boundaries, and comply with Safe From Harm guidelines.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of related work experience. Candidates may be considered on a combination of training and experience. Must have strong communication skills, a leadership style, and good organizational abilities. Commitment to carrying out The Salvation Army mission is essential. Knowledge of Salvation Army and government, state, and community resources is helpful.
Preferred Qualifications Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Report screening.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements Must be able to perform essential duties in an office environment, including computer use and answering phones. Occasional lifting of up to 24 pounds is required. Most work is indoors in a temperature‑controlled environment, with occasional outdoor travel during summer and winter.
