Essential Responsibilities
Supervise the casework activities of Dependency Case Manager Specialists, Case Managers, Family Support Workers, and Administrative Assistants. Uses management tools in FSFN on an ongoing basis to monitor open cases to ensure timelines for action to be taken and payments are correct and appropriate. Complete a case review on all open cases quarterly. Review case documentation, court reports, and other written work products.
Oversee case assignment, determine appropriate response priority, and approve risk levels. Conduct case staffing/conferences with DCF staff, CWLS, Guardian Ad Litem, Children Protection Team, Foster parents, and other community stakeholders. Act as a liaison with the Foster Parent Association.
Responsible for hiring, training, corrective actions, attendance, and performance evaluations for assigned staff. Participate in the program’s on‑call rotation.
Screening Questions & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health, or related field.
Two years of experience in foster care/protective services or one year of experience with a master’s degree.
Must attain a passing score on the basic skills Introduction to Child Protection Written Assessment.
Successful completion of the field‑based performance assessment is required during the probationary period.
