Department: Children’s Services, Child and Family Management Division, Sullivan County, Greene County.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Equivalent to two years of full‑time professional work providing child welfare services, including one or more of the following: social, psychological, or correctional counseling or case management; volunteer services coordination for a children's service program; juvenile classification coordination.

Age: 21 years or older.

Citizenship: United States citizen.

Driver’s License: Valid license during employment.

Criminal History: Good moral character, no felony convictions, completion of criminal history disclosure, agreement to release records, fingerprint sample, and successful drug screening.

Responsibilities

Mentor less‑experienced staff, participate in multi‑disciplinary teams.

Determine abuse/neglect, assess risk, develop safety plans, make recommendations, monitor families, recruit foster parents, conduct home visits, coordinate visitation.

Maintain documentation and prepare for court proceedings.

Conduct interviews, gather records, administer drug screens, assess homes, and visit children and stakeholders.

Work flexible hours, schedule appointments, transport children to appointments, assist with placements.

Communicate effectively with families, providers, co‑workers, and supervisors.

Lead Child and Family Team Meetings, develop action steps and goals.

Coordinate community referrals, collaborate with law enforcement and multi‑disciplinary teams, train foster and adoptive parents.

Driver Standards
State of Tennessee positions that may involve driving require:
