Career Opportunity
CCCN is seeking a Pre‑Services Coordinator for the Central Services site in Henderson, Nevada. The coordinator will schedule and pre‑register new patients for exams and procedures, supporting physicians and enhancing patient experience.
Scope
Under general supervision, the coordinator maintains patient records, prepares forms, verifies insurance eligibility, obtains pre‑authorizations, and resolves routine and non‑routine issues. The role must adhere to US Oncology’s Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, and Shared Values.
Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls and assess patients’ needs.
Schedule new patient appointments with appropriate providers.
Provide appointment details (time, location, directions).
Record call statistics in New Patient Log.
Maintain and update physician schedules.
Coordinate with triage nurses for scheduling requests.
Collect patient demographic, insurance, and pre‑visit information.
Enter patient data into computer systems.
Verify insurance eligibility, benefit coverage, copays, and pre‑authorizations.
Mail or email required medical forms prior to the first visit.
Follow up on missing insurance information, records, and test results.
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree in Finance, Business, or at least 3 years of revenue cycle experience preferred.
Minimum three (3) years of medical receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
Knowledge of practice operations and schedules is a plus.
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
Must complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of hire.
Demonstrates adaptability, work commitment, and quality focus.
Physical Demands
Requires presence at the employee site during regular business hours, standing, walking, and handling patients or items weighing up to 40 lb. Requires full range of body motion, manual dexterity, and correct vision and hearing.
Work Environment
The role involves exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medical preparations common to an oncology clinic. Interaction with co‑workers, management, and clients is frequent; minimal travel may be required.
