Job Summary
The Clinical Informatics Analyst serves as a consultant and works closely with health plan departments, leadership teams, and end‑users to support health information technology. The role involves developing knowledge of Baylor Scott & White Health applications, providing end‑user training and support, documenting issues, and tracking resolutions.
Responsibilities
Provide training on health services platform – authorization, case management, population health, and appeals/grievances module navigation
Document processes, workflows, issues, projects
Verify authorization required components and perform authorization entry
Match claims to authorization for claims adjudication
Configure systems and cross‑walk applications
Search and document clinical details
Review and compare medical billing and coding
Create regulatory and contractual reports and validate data
Transfer, receive, and access clinical information for providers, contracted partners, and members
Support health services projects, implementations, improvements, and enhancements
Research and resolve clinical information issues in health care systems
Query and analyze data, assess volume, and present findings
Track and trend processes, workflows, projects, activities, issues, and resolutions
Essential Functions
Develop knowledge of Baylor Scott & White Health applications, policies, procedures, and processes to provide ongoing end‑user support and training to staff. Acquire foundation‑level knowledge of health information technology and its application/impact in the health plan setting. Identify, document, and resolve issues with health plan departments and contracted vendors, track issues from identification through resolution, and follow up with customers to ensure needs are met. Act as an individual contributor to project success, completing assigned tasks timely. Establish and maintain effective relationships in the health plan setting, and communicate and distribute prepared materials for changes that affect end users. Develop understanding of roles and responsibilities for informatics, clinicians, and analysts, and attend meetings and governance councils as assigned.

Health care setting experience 1 year or greater (preferred)
SQL knowledge and use (preferred)
Medical billing and coding, ICD‑10, HCPCS, CPT, health services authorization and claims knowledge & understanding
Power BI experience
HealthRules Payer knowledge/use
GuidingCare knowledge/use
