Join the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) as a Case Manager – Reception & Placement. In this role, you will support newly arriving refugees in the Houston Field Office by arranging necessary services, maintaining case files, and ensuring culturally‑appropriate care.
Pay
Base hourly rate: $23.00/hr–$25.00/hr (actual pay will be based on your experience and qualifications).
Overview
The Reception and Placement Case Manager provides direct services to refugees through housing, healthcare, social services, provider referrals, and interpretation. You will maintain case files, submit required reports, and collaborate with community partners to facilitate smooth resettlement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Arrange housing, healthcare, social services, service providers, and interpretation for new refugees in the Houston area.
Maintain case files and submit written reports as required.
Provide cross‑cultural information, orient families to the new community, and ensure a smooth resettlement process.
Connect clients with supportive community networks and long‑term integration resources.
Attend stakeholder meetings, collaborate with community partners, and make referrals as needed.
Ensure services are provided in an linguistically and culturally appropriate manner and advocate where required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills and Abilities
High school degree required; undergraduate degree preferred.
Experience in case management or social work preferred.
Bilingual/multilingual preferred.
Independent and self‑motivated, with strong teamwork skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and manage projects without loss of detail.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including listening and relationship building.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.

Training Requirements
Successful completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training.
Complete additional training as directed by the supervisor, program director, or Human Resources.
Physical Demands
Manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and auditory acuity.
Repetitive motion, prolonged sitting, standing, and sustained visual/mental tasks.
Lifting (up to 25 lbs), bending, pulling, and carrying.
