Meridell Achievement Center is a nationally recognized 134-bed private residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents who have emotional, behavioral and neurobehavioral problems. Meridell has been providing exceptional care for our patients for 60 years. Our inpatient and outpatient services offer supportive and compassionate care through specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our patients. Our mission is to provide safe, effective, and compassionate mental health and substance use treatment. Meridell is a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS).
Responsibilities
Coordinate services for residents with the therapist(s) to support the resident's transition from the facility.
Ensure intake is completed for new admissions, including psychosocial assessments, initial treatment plans, and outcome measures.
Initiate discharge planning upon admission and collaborate with the therapist to plan aftercare services in advance of discharge.
Work with Utilization Review staff and program therapists to maintain authorization status and anticipate discharge planning needs.
Complete master treatment plans for new admissions.
Ensure aftercare provider appointments are secured within required timeframes.
Facilitate screenings for admission to aftercare providers (e.g., partial hospital programs, residential treatment centers, group homes).

Qualifications
Education: Must have Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health field and a current State of Texas license as a PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMSW, LMFT-A, or LPC-A, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Experience: Four years work experience in mental health or related field preferred. Two years direct practice experience and/or clinical (graduate, continuing ed., etc.) training specific to individual, family and group therapy (if specialized issues group, training must be specific to issue).
Skills: Must have good verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly with children and adolescents, families, all members of the interdisciplinary team, and managed care representatives. Must have strong clinical skills to assess dynamics and develop effective treatment strategies within the overall treatment plan. Must have analytical ability to evaluate information from the treatment team and revise treatment plans accordingly. Must have leadership abilities to support clinicians, nurses, and care workers. Must be flexible regarding program needs.
Essential Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform medium physically demanding work requiring walking, sitting, or standing.
