We’re expanding our Family Programs team! Volunteers of America (VOA) is looking for a compassionate, organized Case Manager to support young mothers and their children through two of our DCYF‑licensed transitional housing programs— Alexandria’s House and Aston Bleck Apartments . These programs are designed to help young moms build safe, stable futures through housing, education, parenting support, and life‑skills development in environments that promote growth, healing, and independence.
Position Overview
The Case Manager provides individualized, trauma‑informed, and strengths‑based case management services to pregnant and parenting young women and their children. This position supports residents at both Alexandria’s House , a group living environment, and Aston Bleck Apartments , an independent living program. The Case Manager helps participants develop and achieve goals related to housing stability, parenting, education, employment, and self‑sufficiency. The ideal candidate brings warmth, consistency, and structure—helping young parents build skills for long‑term independence while ensuring compliance with DCYF (WAC 110-145) standards and VOA policies.
Schedule
This is a full‑time position (40 hours per week). A typical schedule is Monday–Friday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM , with some flexibility to meet participant or program needs. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for resident support or program events. Participation in a rotating on‑call schedule may also be required.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct intake assessments and create individualized service and safety plans.
Provide case management, goal planning, and advocacy for young mothers transitioning to independence.
Support residents in accessing community resources such as childcare, education, healthcare, and employment.
Facilitate life‑skills and parenting education sessions in collaboration with program staff.
Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports in compliance with DCYF and grant standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for mothers and infants.
Model positive parenting, problem‑solving, and boundary‑setting behaviors.
Participate in regular supervision, training, and DCYF compliance activities.
Coordinate transitions between Alexandria’s House and Aston Bleck Apartments to support long‑term success.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
Option 1 – Master’s Path
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
1+ year of experience working with children, adolescents, or young parents
1+ year of supervisory, lead, or team coordination experience
Option 2 – Bachelor’s Path
Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Development, or Behavioral Science
2+ years of experience working with children, adolescents, or young parents
1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience
Option 3 – Experience Path
5+ years full‑time experience in a behavioral health, housing, or social services field
Includes staff supervision or mentoring experience
Licenses and Certifications
Eligible to register as an Agency‑Affiliated Counselor (AAC) within 30 days of hire
Current Driver’s License, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
CPR/First Aid/BBP certification within 6 months of employment
Must successfully pass a DCYF background check per WAC 110-145-1325
Bona Fide Occupational Qualification
Must be at least 21 years of age per DCYF licensing requirements.
