Overview CASE MANAGER/CHILD SAFETY SPECIALIST role at the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS). The department partners with families, caregivers and the community to strengthen families, ensure safety, and achieve permanency for Arizona’s children through prevention, services, and support. You will select a local office location from Bullhead City, Lake Havasu, Cottonwood, Kingman, Flagstaff, Fredonia, Page or Prescott during the application process.

Responsibilities Respond to reported allegations of child abuse and/or neglect.
Assess child safety and risk.
Conduct interviews and gather information.
Make in-and-out of home contacts with families and children.
Attend court hearings and prepare case plans; conduct case plan staffing.
Author professional reports and complete documentation.
Coordinate and monitor services; place and transport children and move a child’s possessions when needed.
Manage cases within the respective county and assigned area; use the Department’s Child Welfare Software Programs.
Alternative work hours may be required, including overtime, weekends and holidays.

Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an institution accredited by a recognized U.S. Department of Education agency; transcripts may be requested to confirm degree. Degree evaluations required for degrees from outside the United States; or four years of experience as a DCS Case Aide.
Must obtain and maintain a valid Arizona DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Must possess a current, valid driver’s license appropriate for state business; pass driver’s record checks and required training; maintain insurance if using a personal vehicle.
First 22 weeks of in-person training in Midtown Phoenix with possible overnight stays.
Selected candidates must pass a written exam, background check, Motor Vehicle Record check, and DCS Central Registry check.
This position requires driving or vehicle use as an essential function of the job.
