This position will serve as a case manager to students with at-risk mental health and social support needs through intervention, referrals, and connections to follow-up services. By providing timely, holistic interventions for students during disruptions, this position will provide nonclinical comprehensive case management for students that experience varying levels of crisis and concern, including but not limited to academic, personal, financial, mental and physical health, suicidality, hospitalizations, and family issues.

Position Overview
This position will assess each report to identify immediate safety or urgent response, provide outreach and support to the reporter and/or student of concern by offering supportive measures and resources, and explain processes, alternative resolutions, and options. This position will use a student-centered trauma-informed approach and skillset designed to focus on basic need student support and conflict mediation to increase overall student retention and success by helping students navigate personal challenges and will be completed through specialized programming (resource fairs, recruiting events, campus and classroom presentations, etc.), outreach, and daily direct student involvement/meetings (group, individual, in-person, Zoom, etc.).
The Three Tenets Of Higher Education Case Management
Different cases take different amounts of time
Cases differ, and as a result, do not follow a specific or predictable pattern
Since there is no expected amount of time that cases will take, work will compound throughout the semester
This position will maintain an ongoing caseload and the caseload percentage will fluctuate depending on community and office needs throughout the year, as delegated by the Director. The Case Manager is responsible for meeting with students in distress/crisis and is expected to continue meeting with the student/working through the issue until resolution or a safe stopping point has been reached.
Required Experience
One year of experience working in an advising, counseling, or case management setting.
Experience working in a student support role in a higher education setting.
Experience handling a dynamic caseload and projects with competing deadlines simultaneously.
Basic knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student records (FERPA, HIPAA, Clery Act, and other legislation regarding students’ rights and services).
Experience devising solutions to problems.
Experience developing and delivering presentations to small and large audiences.
Experience utilizing computer applications to produce presentations, correspondence, and reports.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Health Professions, Social Sciences or related field.

Master’s Degree in counseling, education, social work, psychology, health professions or related field.
Ability to communicate effectively in a sensitive manner in individuals and group settings.
Specialization in restorative justice resolution and conflict management.
Working knowledge of student case management database systems (Symplicity, Maxient, etc.).
Experience working in a team environment to accomplish shared goals.
