Job Description
The Case Manager I for La Jornada is responsible for completing assessments, service plans, maintaining case files, and ensuring compliance with ORR policies. The role requires a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and being on-call.
Responsibilities include:
Performing assessments and documentation within ORR’s timeframes
Conducting intake interviews and vetting sponsors/families
Acting as the UC case point of contact and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
Preparing and leading staffing processes, attending meetings, and coordinating legal and family reunification services
Maintaining detailed documentation and files
Transporting youth as needed and participating in discharge planning
Reporting incidents, ensuring safety, and adhering to protocols
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field; 1+ year experience preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Commitment to youth advocacy
Flexible schedule, background check clearance, CPI and First Aid certifications, bilingual in English and Spanish, valid driver’s license, and reliable vehicle
Other Skills:
Willingness to work non-traditional hours, attend trainings, and travel as needed
Ability to react to change, maintain professionalism, and advocate for youth
Physical Demands:
Manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, occasional lifting, and ability to travel and drive
