Department: Integrated Behavioral Health

Locations: Pediatric clinics located in Lakewood, Dallas, and Rockwall

Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Type: Hybrid (onsite 3 days per week)

PLEASE NOTE: Only fully licensed therapists who are independently licensed to practice in Texas (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) will be considered. LPC‑A or LMSW will not be considered.

Summary
This position specializes in helping families adjust to acute and ongoing stressors by providing psychiatric, psychological, and biopsychosocial support. Services include clinical assessment, treatment planning, short‑term counseling, and strategic interventions with children, families, and caregivers. The practitioner may provide services in person or via tele‑medicine and acts as the communication hub among all providers to keep pediatricians apprised of behavioral health recommendations and progress. The role is also responsible for identifying regional trends and developing new treatment regimens, including group interventions.

Responsibilities

Provide immediate in‑person or telephonic assessment of children identified as needing behavioral health services; diagnose and develop treatment plans for a full array of disorders and sub‑clinical symptoms; provide short‑term counseling to children and families.

Perform behavioral health evaluations for children, adolescents, and families with special emphasis on suicidality risk and safety; deliver evidence‑based interventions.

Conduct psychotherapeutic interventions either in‑person or via telemedicine as indicated by assessment or DSM diagnosis.

Provide ongoing in‑person and telephonic support to children and families to ensure treatment goals are met.

Utilize DSM and ICD in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of behavioral/mental health patients.

Develop and facilitate professional education on behavioral and mental health issues for the behavioral health team.

Maintain effective communication with pediatric partners, updating them on treatment plans and progress, and providing training on behavioral health identification.

Develop and provide group programming for children and families based on identified trends.

Act as the child’s behavioral health expert, providing consultation and support on all behavioral health issues, including serious emotional disturbances and addictions.

Perform child maltreatment evaluation and referral; conduct trauma and safety assessments.

Meet physical and non‑physical demands as outlined in the job description.

Perform other duties such as administrative tasks, critical incident stress interventions (CISM), and special projects as required; submit charges for assessments and services when appropriate.

How You’ll Be Successful

At least 3 years of post‑graduate experience in behavioral health (minimum).

At least 5 years of post‑graduate experience in behavioral health (preferred).

Education
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or marriage and family therapy (required).

Licenses and Certifications
Licensed in Texas for independent clinical practice in social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage and family therapy (required).
