Position The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones.
Schedule Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Primary Responsibilities Provide exceptional service to all customers
Greet patient and check patient in and out. Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct in IDX and update as necessary
Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to all cash handling policies
Schedule appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
Manage waiting room cleanliness and communicate pertinent information to patients; ensure all patients have been assisted
Work with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, including floating to other areas

Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of employment
1+ year of experience in customer service with strong communications in person and via phone
Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of experience in a health care setting
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Practice Management Software systems
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Understanding of insurance programs and basic managed care principles such as referrals and prior authorization
General understanding of the patient visit from beginning to end
Understanding of customer service in the clinic setting
Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding
Reliable transportation that enables travel to client and/or patient sites within a designated area
Soft Skills Good communication skills, excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
Possess computer skills
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
