About Del Norte Child Care Council The Mission of the Del Norte Child Care Council (DNCCC) is to promote and encourage the healthy growth, education, care, and development of children through increased community and family awareness of children’s needs. Supporting services for Del Norte County by bringing families and professional resources in, child care subsidy, family child care referrals, the food program for family child care providers, toy lending library, school readiness, child abuse prevention, car seat lending, child care centers for preschool, after school care, and more.
Description Performs a variety of general office support duties such as answering the telephone, organizing and maintaining various files, typing, proofreading, and checking materials for accuracy.
Attends trainings and meetings relevant to the programs associated with the Alternative Payment programs.
Identifies and enrolls eligible families according to program guidelines. Assesses family needs for social services, provides referrals, performs follow-up as appropriate. Collaborates with other agencies to coordinate subsidized childcare services to meet the client’s needs. Tracks progression of clients through the CalWORKs program stages.
Interviews and collects information and documentation from clients to assure their eligibility for subsidized child care programs as per enrollment checklist. A review of all client and provider files for accuracy and completion on at least a quarterly basis.
Explains policies and procedures to clients and child care providers. Educates the family concerning the established billing and payment procedures.
Informs families of eligibility status or suggests other options in instances when appropriate.
Monitors the ongoing eligibility for families, as assigned. Maintains and re-certifies eligible families according to program guidelines and DNCCC established policies.
Analyzes family fraud, evaluates situations, and refers to supervisor when appropriate.
Enter client information into client database, updates the information as necessary, and maintains familiarity with software used for the creation and maintenance of family files and correspondence.
Make presentations to providers, community members, and/or CalWORKs clients regarding DNCCC services as necessary.
Maintains current knowledge of the Regional Market Rate Survey as updated.
Maintains knowledge of contract funding terms and conditions.
Responsible for timely submission of monthly provider payment requests. Submits accurately completed certificate(s) to the family.
Reviews childcare payment vouchers. Calculates voucher amount accurately by deadline.
Processes and ranks waitlist applications and contracts families from the waitlist to invite parents to interview.
Places new families on waiting/eligibility lists for programs, as appropriate. Maintains and updates waiting/eligibility lists and checks submitted application for completion.
Maintains current working knowledge of Trust Line requirements.
Reports suspected cases of child abuse in compliance with mandated reporter requirements.
Maintains confidentiality regarding all clients’ data.
Complies with DNCCC personnel policies and other formal DNCCC guidelines and policies.
