Position Summary
The Clinical Quality Assurance Manager oversees quality assurance (QA) with clinical emphasis to ensure client satisfaction and revenue growth in the QA department. This position is responsible for QA training, identification of root causes for QA issues, continuous QA improvement, and measurement of outcomes to establish quality benchmarks.
Clinical Quality Assurance
- Utilize clinical expertise to provide quality oversight for the QA department including clinical review of FFD and FFD-VS reports.
- Set quality assurance operational processes and strategies
- Create and maintain a weekly department scorecard that includes key performance indicators
- Recommend system and process enhancements for more efficient and quality work output
- Address and resolve customer quality concerns
- Report on any provider clinical quality trends to Network Development and the dyad leaders
QA Team Management
- Develop and implement the training program for QA Specialists
- Assess team capabilities and provide targeted training to support individual development and advance department growth goals.
- Determine productivity standards and key QA standards/measures
- Conduct audits and analyze results to improve outcomes and maximize productivity
- Set quarterly and annual department goals that align with the company strategy
- Provide team with clinically based training and guidance when addressing complex evaluator situations or customer concerns
- Identify and escalate issues that need elevated review and clinical leadership involvement to the VP Clinical Evaluations, VP Clinical Services and Chief Clinical Officer
- Coordinate staff schedules for adequate coverage of the department
- Complete annual employee performance reviews for the direct reports
- Manage expenses, including overtime and department expenses
- Embody and champion GPA tenants of Growth Mindset, Proactivity, and Accountability

- Participate in department and company meetings, as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience successfully leading, managing, training and motivating employees in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Sound clinical knowledge which applies evidence-based practices in psychological assessment
- Strong knowledge and understanding of client servicing, developing, and executing strategies to ensure client retention
- Ability to think critically, flexibly, and creatively with tolerance for ambiguity
- Utilization of sound clinical judgment in decision making and problem solving
- High degree of entrepreneurial initiative, accountability, commitment, energy and drive; ability to prioritize and focus on first things first
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication, listening and consultative skills
- Ability to interact effectively in stressful situations and maintain focus on problem-solving and solutions
- Advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Competence in psychological assessments and diagnosis
Education & Licensing
- Masters degree in a mental health field required; Doctorate degree preferred
- Actively licensed at master’s level or above required
- Degree in clinical and/or forensic psychology strongly preferred
Experience
- 5 years of post-license clinical experience required
- At least 3 years in a clinical role that involved psychological assessment psychological testing
- 2 years of management experience required; preferably in healthcare, EAP, or disability insurance industries
- 3 years Quality Assurance experience strongly preferred
Physical Work Requirements
Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
The starting pay range for this position is $86,688 - 102,200 per year. The position’s pay range represents the national average pay for similar roles. R3 considers factors such as (but not limited to) experience, internal pay equity and other business considerations when extending an offer.
