Job Description:
The Nurse Point of Contact supports our practice by providing remote nursing triage, patient
communication, and clinical support. This role manages incoming patient messages, assesses symptoms
and treatment-related concerns, provides patient education, and ensures timely communication with
providers. The Nurse POC is essential in maintaining high-quality patient care, supporting provider
workflows, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently processes incoming patient messages including triaging calls and
responding appropriately per policy.
• Documents all patient interactions and clinical communications in the EMR to ensure proper
disposition for physician review.
• Contact patients at the physician’s direction to provide results, arrange treatment, or discuss
clinical status.
• Assess patient symptoms, post-procedure issues, and medication side effects, escalating
concerns appropriately.
• Explain procedures and provide educational materials related to treatment or diagnosis.
• Communicate with physicians regularly to clarify preferences and provide updates on patient
status.
• E-scribe medications and order tests according to physician protocols (per scope of practice and
state licensure).
• Complete patient forms and documentation requiring clinical input, including FMLA and
insurance-related requests.
• Assist with clinical portions of insurance appeals and prior authorizations as directed by
providers.
• Facilitate scheduling of any needed office appointments, local procedure injections, external
labs and radiology.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
• Must hold a current and valid RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, urology or oncology experience preferred.
• Experience in clinical triage, patient education, and remote patient support preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) required; OncoEMR preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in patient care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient and provider interactions.
• Ability to assess patient symptoms, side effects, and post-treatment concerns accurately.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple remote tasks efficiently.
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a patient-centered approach.
Physical Requirements
• Remote, office-based role requiring prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
• Ability to communicate clearly via phone, video, and electronic messaging.
• Occasional lifting or handling of documents or patient charts (up to 20 pounds).
• Visual and auditory ability to review electronic records and monitor patient communications.

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $85,000 - $105,000 annually
Actual compensation offered to candidates is based on work experience, education, skill level, and geographic location. Compensation may vary depending on the state or region in which the position is located, in accordance with applicable laws.
