About the role
The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for leading, optimizing, and scaling TeleMed2U’s clinical operations across multiple service lines. This role ensures efficient, high-quality delivery of virtual care while driving performance in access, workflow optimization, patient experience, provider experience, and operational excellence. The Director collaborates closely with executive leadership, clinical leaders, and cross-functional teams to operationalize strategy, improve systems, and support sustainable growth in a multi-specialty telehealth environment.
What you'll do
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Support the development and execution of a comprehensive clinical operations strategy aligned with TeleMed2U’s mission, clinical priorities, and business goals.
- Lead end-to-end clinical operations, including provider scheduling, provider credentialing, provider support, and workflow optimization
Clinical Operations Performance & Access
- Own key clinical operations performance metrics, including access, wait times, schedule utilization, throughput, service levels, and operational KPIs.
Quality, Safety & Regulatory Alignment
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and Operation leaders to align operational practices with clinical quality standards, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure operational support for quality programs, including documentation timeliness, follow-up adherence, closed-loop communication, and adherence to clinical protocols.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Clinical Leadership, Business Development, IT, Revenue Cycle, Finance, HR, Recruiting, and other stakeholders to ensure operational readiness and alignment for new services, contracts, and initiatives.
Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Define and maintain a robust set of clinical operations metrics and dashboards at the organizational, service line, and partner levels.
- Use data to evaluate operational effectiveness, staffing efficiency, and service quality, and to guide resource allocation and process improvements.
Patient & Provider Experience
- Champion a patient-centered operational design that makes it easy to access care, understand next steps, and navigate virtual services.
Project & Change Management
- Assist with operational implementation of new service lines, partner launches, markets, and technology initiatives, ensuring readiness across teams and systems.
- Oversee project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements for major operational initiatives.
- Drive effective change management, ensuring frontline teams understand the “why,” “what,” and “how” of changes and have the training and tools needed for success.
Qualifications
Required
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field; other degrees considered with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, clinical operations, or care delivery management. 3+ years in a clinical operations management role (e.g., Senior Manager, Director or equivalent) overseeing multi-site or multi-service clinical operations in a health system, telehealth organization, multi-specialty group, or similar environment.
- Demonstrated track record of building and scaling operations, improving performance, and leading large teams through growth and change.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of clinical operations, healthcare workflows, care coordination, and patient access in a complex healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead leaders and multidisciplinary teams in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, including comfort with operational and financial data, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, telehealth platforms, workforce management tools, and standard office productivity software.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field.
- Experience in telemedicine, digital health, or technology-enabled care delivery.
- Experience working with health system partners, payers, or large employer clients, including implementation and ongoing account support.
- Formal training or certification in process improvement and/or project management (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PMP).
