Job Description:

The Data Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across the organization. This role involves developing and implementing data quality processes, conducting data analysis and validation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity. The candidate will utilize their extensive experience to create data quality frameworks, identify data issues, and implement corrective measures.

Requirements:

  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • This position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.
  • You can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in data quality engineering or a related role, including work with Oracle-based data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles, methodologies, and tools, including data validation, reconciliation, and profiling frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL for data analysis and data quality assessment.
  • Experience designing and supporting data pipelines and ETL/ELT data transformations.
  • Experience with schema and version control and managing data quality artifacts using GitHub.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes-run data jobs and Docker-based pipeline packaging.
  • Experience with Redis lookup caching for reference or validation data.
  • Familiarity with GitOps-based deployment flows using ArgoCD.
  • Experience monitoring data pipelines and quality metrics using Grafana and/or Dynatrace.
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of automated data quality monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and tools.

Responsibilities

Data Quality Strategy and Framework Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive data quality strategies and frameworks.
  • Establish data quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on data quality.

Data Validation and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data.
  • Identify, document, and resolve data quality issues.

Data Cleansing and Transformation:

  • Develop and implement data cleansing processes to correct data quality issues.
  • Transform data to align with data quality standards and business requirements.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and address data quality issues.
  • Communicate data quality findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data quality management.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve data quality processes and methodologies.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data quality processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Generate regular data quality reports and dashboards to track progress and highlight areas for improvement.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure data quality processes comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and HIPAA.
  • Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information
