JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Clinical Case Planner’s responsibilities consist of supporting customer surgeons in the pre-operative surgical planning process.  Associate Planner is responsible for generating pre-operative templates on the TPLAN 3D planning workstation, online platform and all other pre-operative planning platforms offered by THINK Surgical.  Patient CT scans are processed for 3D model generation, pre-operative implant planning, implant sizing and positioning. The Planning team produces high volume of quality case templates, customized to each implant and surgeon assigned, and participates in the collaborative review of each case internally and with surgeons. The Case Planning team adheres to quality standards and provides documentation and record-keeping for all cases planned and transferred to the online portal.  This position will be remote based in the Eastern or Central time zones.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to HIPAA, FDA, and GMP guidelines.
  • Use TPLAN Workstation and proprietary planning software to process pre-operative CT scans for surgical templating. 
  • Support THINK Surgical Clinical Support team on all aspects of the TPLAN Workstation and online software. 
  • Adapt to ongoing changes to the software and implant modules. Work closely with the development team by providing customer and user feedback, bug reporting, etc.  
  • Represent the company with the highest levels of professionalism to maintain our market brand/image as a world leader in medical robotics. 
  • Moderate record keeping and data entry, and weekly/monthly reporting of case metrics 
  • Attend departmental meetings, knowledge transfer sessions, attend cadaveric and/or specimen labs, and participate in live orthopedic surgical procedure observation as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Associate degree or 1+ years of on-the-job experience in the medical/surgical field or the medical device industry.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic 
  • Good verbal and written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills, initiative, judgment, and problem-solving ability. 
  • Good computer and software skills, including Microsoft suite.
  • Fine motor skills and mouse dexterity.
  • Be capable of making appropriate sound decisions quickly in a high-pressure setting.
  • Attendance, punctuality, and responsiveness are essential functions of the position. 
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System Standards.

Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of hip/knee anatomy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position and operate office equipment for a prolonged period of time. 
  • Physical activities include, but not limited to constant manual dexterity, moving about the work site, and/or handling objects weighing up to 20 lbs. 
  • Other infrequent physical activities include, but not limited to, positioning self to complete assigned tasks, and ascending/descending floors and/or ladders.
  • Occasionally work around moving mechanical parts.
  • Must be able to work in a schedule that commensurate with business operation, including work during weekends, holidays and/or times outside of normal business hours.
  • Must be able to travel as business necessitates (up to 10%).
