Job Summary The Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing care and services for a group of hospice patients and visiting patients where they reside, which could include private homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.
Responsibilities Complete hospice admissions and patient visits as needed.
Answer calls from patients, families, and customers.
Make nursing visits for symptom management, deaths, and admissions as needed.
Work independently and on your own day‑to‑day with activities that include phone, email, written communication, and meetings with various healthcare professionals.
Manage visits, documentation, and meetings – schedule visits, attend required meetings, and respond to urgent needs by prioritizing and triaging multiple concerns.
Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice with one year of experience under license.
Admissions and on‑call experience preferred.
Works well within a team environment with nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and CNA leadership.
Strong communication skills.
Can work independently; use phone, email, meetings; understand hospice rules and regulations.
Ability to learn an electronic medical records system.
Must be willing to drive with reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance, to travel across the service area.
